"objective risk management services"
July 17, 2002
Being a "Web Services" provider means
that in addition to our outstanding client
interface, The Integrity Connection (tm),
we have now announced a set of standard
calls to an Application Programming
Interface (The Integrity API) using the new
international standard XML protocol ---
(this is what it means to offer a "Web Service").
Using The Integrity API, the HR software
that some of our Clients already have in place
can be slightly enhanced to reach our network
on the Internet by requesting a particular IP
address. After password verification, The
Integrity API then accepts requests directly
from, and returns reports directly to, the HR
software system of our Client company.
This eliminates your need to again type data
in, and your need to input our returning reports
to your HR system --- and, it eliminates the
possibility of transcription errors. And, there
is NO extra charge for using this API.
While this is cutting edge technology, it is
very important to our Clients because of the
tremendous productivity improvements that
they realize. Once a client company has
captured the data about an applicant in their
computer's HR system, there is now no need
for the Client company to retype any data in
order to request a background check. Nor
is there a need to type any results into your
HR software system. This technology also
eliminates any potential inter-company
hardware dependency that you would find
with older technologies.
As a simple case, assume that one of our
Clients has their own in-house HR system
and, for example, they want to be able to make
calls to a specialized remote server to obtain
county criminal conviction histories. We have
those specialized remote servers ready today
along with the API and it's protocol. Any of our
Clients can automate requests for freshly
retrieved criminal conviction histories. Actually,
the API allows any Client company to request
our full menu of offerings. The Client company
merely enhances their HR software so that it
will use the API protocol as they see fit.
Companies with their own in-house HR systems
are now realizing that they can view us as a
group of specialized servers that will respond to
their automated calls requesting our full range of
freshly retrieved background checking reports.
And, they see that they can also automate the
retrieval of our reports directly into their HR
systems.
Web Services are a new technology. They are
quickly becoming popular because of the
standardization that the XML protocol provides.
However, there are not many vendors like us who
have the technology that enables them to offer
background checking Web Services. Computing and
communications is one of our core competencies,
and this is another example of our Client interfaces
leading the industry.
Just call us if you would like to see how easily your
technical staff can enhance your HR software to
save you a lot of time.
