"New techniques show bosses how
applicants react to stress."
"Farewell Formality --- the interview as most
of us know it is fast disappearing. Companies
are turning to new, more accurate alternatives."
After noting that traditional background checks
have increased dramatically in the past year,
the article compares four "new" interview techniques
with the "Standard Interview". The claim is made
that "the most effective new technique (54%) for
accurately predicting job performance is the
Situational Interview" --- but, "an outsourced
situational interview runs upwards of $500 a pop."
"In the post-Enron culture-of-caution, corporations
are heeding an obvious insight: that a gold-plated
resume and winning personality are about as
accurate in determining job performance as Wall
Street analysts are in picking stocks."
It is very interesting to note in the article that the
"personality/integrity assessment" is the next most
effective interview technique for accurately
predicting on-the-job performance.
Since 1988, we have administered over 11,400 of
our personality/integrity assessments using the
validated interview tool The Examiner (tm). Since
1999, this tool has been available on the Internet. It
consists of an online survey, which you then follow
with an interview that is done from the Interview
Guide which the tool produces for the interviewer.
The amazing insight that the interviewer gets comes
from: (1) the survey revealing the candidate's motivations
and attitudes before the interview begins, (2) an accurate
measure of the candidate's level of candor, and (3)
the sorted and organized responses that the candidate
made to specific questions during the computer survey.
These results enable the interviewer to gain terrific
insight into the candidate, and receive admissions, while
only appearing to question responses that the candidate
made to the computer during the survey.
The cost of The Examiner (tm) online survey including
the subsequent Interview Guide, which you print out for
the interview, is $32.50 before a volume discount. If your
company wants to outsource the follow-up interview to a
professional at The Integrity Center, Inc., the additional
cost is $60.

survey and have us interview you so that you can realize
the insight for yourself.
The BusinessWeek article has the right theme. With
very little ability to raise prices, with ballooning health
care costs, and with global competition, you need to be
sure that you are hiring the right person.
